My Immune Health Essentials

It’s cold & flu season, and many of us are highly stressed and coming off a less-than-healthy holiday season with tons of processed food– long story short, there are definitely some germs going around lately! 🦠🤒

I know so many of us are busy looking for ways to optimize your immune health in this season and beyond. This blog post will share some quick tidbits regarding my favorite supplements and items that promote an optimal immune response, to use daily for proactive maintenance or to have on hand in case you start feeling sick.

Remember, as the old axiom goes, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” And many of the preventative actions steps we can take are habits we must build into our lives. Building a lifestyle of wellness takes some focused effort and intention, but will pay dividends for years to come! Some habits that are beneficial to immune health include…

  • Quality sleep– 8-9 hours nightly (bonus points if you go to sleep before 10PM!)

  • Eating 90% whole, unprocessed foods; with 10% treats/splurges

  • Stress management– it is critical to avoid excessive, prolonged stress. I suggest daily prayer or meditation, breathing techniques, setting boundaries, learning to say “no”.

  • Daily movement– I suggest 30-60 minutes daily of low-intensity movement, like walking, and then 3-5 days
