My name is Carly Stagg, and I’m a fifth-semester student at the USF College of Nursing. I expect to graduate with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing on May 2, 2019.
After graduation, I will be working as a Clinical Educator and Registered Nurse at the SevaMed Institute, an innovative functional medicine practice in Lutz, FL. Some of the therapies our practice uses include biofeedback, a science-based elimination diet, and therapeutic lifestyle changes.
In my professional practice, I hope to blend traditional medicine with holistic and alternative options, using risk-benefit analysis as a key tenet. I am passionate about empowering patients with the education they need to take charge of their own health. As patients partner with healthcare providers, this will improve both healthcare outcomes along with patient and provider satisfaction.
My long-term goal is to gain my doctorate in nursing practice and become a Family Nurse Practitioner (maybe with an additional certificate in Pediatrics or Nurse-Midwifery!). I plan to specialize in primary care and preventative medicine.
I’d like to also share a few fun facts about me!
I am half Cuban-American and bilingual in English and Spanish. 🇺🇸 🇨🇺
Outside of nursing, music is one of my major hobbies- specifically singing and harmony. 🎧
My favorite snack is a green apple with organic peanut butter. 🍏🥜
I have a certification in nutrition from the Nutritional Therapy Association and love including that knowledge in my interactions with patients. 🤓
